Although this program is designed to maintain and improve literacy skills throughout the summer, it’s not just for kids! Readers of all ages can earn points, unlock badges, and win prizes by reading, completing challenges and attending programs and performances.
You can earn one point per minute for reading printed books or eBooks (including graphic novels) or listening to audiobooks. Reading at least 20 minutes per day is the goal! Earn additional points for attending in-person or virtual events hosted by librarians and local performers, completing library challenges, and participating in community experiences to find secret codes outside of the library.
Although you must register and log your reading online to play, you can still pick up paper reading gameboards at all of our library locations to help keep track. If you need help registering or logging reading time online, library staff will be happy to assist you.
Prizes include books, food coupons, Arizona State Park passes and more! We’ll also be giving out bonus rewards unique to Glendale Public Library; kids and teens can choose prizes from our treasure chest and adults will receive library book sale vouchers and a cool book bag!
