There are opportunities for ages 14+ to volunteer at all library locations. Volunteers must be willing to commit to a regular schedule, as well as at least 2-4 hours per month of volunteering and a commitment of a minimum of 40 hours of service.
Volunteers primarily assist with program preparation and participation, organizing and shelving materials, and other tasks.
If you are looking for a short-term volunteer experience (less than 40 hours), please contact Cassandra Jarles, Volunteer Coordinator, at 623-930-3544 or
libraryvolunteers@glendaleaz.com to discuss your options. Short-term volunteer assignments are not always available and are not available on an immediate need. It is best to contact the library as soon as possible.
Calling all teens, ages 12-18! Our Teen Activity Group is here to let you share your ideas for the library, meet new friends, be the guinea pigs for activities, and earn community service hours! You'll receive a one-hour credit per meeting.
Unless otherwise noted in our
online calendar of events, the Teen Activity Group meets at the following times and locations:
- Main Library from 6-7 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month.
- Foothills Library from 5-6 p.m. on the first Monday of the month.
Please fill out this volunteer application before attending.
Can't volunteer in person? Volunteer virtually instead from the comfort of your own home! Teens, ages 12-13, may earn volunteer hours by submitting media reviews (books/television/movies/music/video games) for
Instagram. Teens can earn one hour per approved submission, which must be appropriate for teens and for representing the library. Email
libraryvolunteers@glendaleaz.com for more information. A
photo/video release form signed by a parent or guardian will be required if submitted in video format.
