Bookstores and libraries, just like superheroes, can do great things when they team up!
Drawn to Comics, downtown Glendale's source for comic books, gaming, and collectibles, is proud to partner with the
Velma Teague Library on
Saturday, May 3, to bring you another exciting Free Comic Book Day experience!
Activities for all ages will take place inside the Velma Teague Library (7010 N. 58th Ave.) from
10 a.m.-3 p.m., as well as inside the Drawn to Comics store located across the street (5801 W. Glendale Ave.) from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Enjoy local artists, select vendors, crafts, games, cosplay, and, of course, free comics galore! Comics will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis and while supplies last.
Meet comic book artists and buy custom creations from vendors. Help your kids create their own easy, geeky crafts and win prizes playing fun games. Compete in a Super Smash Bros. Tournament. Pose for photo ops with local cosplayers, including the
501st Legion - Dune Sea Garrison, the
Arizona Ghostbusters, the
717th Xeno-Exploitation Battalion, the
Umbrella Corporation - Arizona Hive, the
Adrian Empire - Kingdom of Umbria, and more. Feel free to wear your own costume!
Dating back to 2002,
Free Comic Book Day is an annual event held on the first Saturday in May, during which participating comic book specialty shops across North America and around the world give away exclusive comic books for free to showcase the industry. For the past decade, Drawn to Comics has created a local festival that has attracted many fans.
